Inglewood/Aiport Area Chamber of Commerce eNewsletter
August 2008 Issue

Please accept my gratitude for selecting me as your 2008-2009 Chamber President. Along with my fellow Officers and Directors, I hope to work with you, the membership, to continue to develop and enlarge the role of the Chamber in assisting the business community, and allowing our city to grow and prosper.

The Chamber Executive Committee and Board of Directors represent you, our business members. This is your Chamber. Please get involved – join a committee or task force, bring your ideas to a meeting, volunteer to host an event, let us know what you think and what you need. The Chamber is an opportunity for you to be a member of a team whose potential is unlimited. We need you on our team!

During the month of August, the Chamber office will be dark, to give staff a chance to clean up fiscal 2007-08 and begin planning for fiscal 2008-2009. There are already some exciting ideas on the table for the fall. This is the time for you to let us know what you would like to see accomplished during our next fiscal year.

The opening event for the year will be an Inglewood Town Hall Meeting, scheduled for September 30 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Community Room A. Our business members will have the opportunity to meet face to face with our new City Administrator, Timothy Wanamaker and various Department Heads to dialogue about the business community’s concerns about doing business in our city. The hope is to establish a strong City/Chamber team that can assist new and developing businesses through the various procedures in obtaining licenses, permits, signage, financing and more.

Special thanks to all of our wonderful Sponsors at our July 18 Golf Classic. This event was the biggest yet, and a great day was had by all!!

Please call on me at any time with your ideas, questions and concerns. If I am unavailable, the staff at the Chamber office can assist you at any time!
